The Apprentice School Foundation Announces 2019 Scholarship Winner

The second of four $500 Scholarship awards was made to Christopher Torres formally of North Augusta, South Carolina and now Newport News, Virginia. Christopher started his apprenticeship on July 15, 2019 as a welder. The Foundation plans to award two additional $500 scholarships during 2019 for apprentices admitted to The Apprentice School of Newport News Shipbuilding. Christopher received a $500 check during a ceremony held in the school’s Cultural Center on July 17, 2019. The Apprentice School Foundation wishes the very best in his apprenticeship experience as well as a long and prosperous career with Newport News Shipbuilding. Congratulations to Christopher Torres!
